Dr Hunter Wang

Dr. Hunter Wang is a highly trained Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist at Sydney Adventist Hospital and Concord Repatriation General Hospital. With a keen interest in all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology, Dr. Wang’s expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions, including the early detection and management of gastrointestinal cancers, pancreatic and bile duct cancers, chronic liver disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, Barrett's oesophagus, complex polyps, pancreaticobiliary diseases, and reflux disease. He holds advanced accreditation in gastroscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS).


Dr. Wang completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney, followed by specialist training at leading hospitals in Sydney and Canberra. He further honed his skills through multiple fellowships in advanced endoscopy at internationally renowned centers such as Westmead Hospital, Sydney, and Zhongshan Hospital, Shanghai. There, he mastered complex endoscopic procedures, delivering optimal outcomes in early gastrointestinal cancer care through the latest techniques.


As a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Dr. Wang actively contributes to the advancement of his field. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences. He recently completed a Master of Philosophy at the University of Sydney, with a focus on innovations in endoscopic resection of the upper gastrointestinal tract.


Dr. Wang is passionate about improving patient outcomes and is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, holistic care.


Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Wang is deeply committed to medical education. He teaches students at Sydney Adventist Hospital and supervises trainees at Concord Hospital.
